18th Annual Crosby Family Reunion

The 18th Annual Family Reunion was a GREAT success. It was full of surprises and the fun never stopped. I have to say this was by far my favorite one. Just having Uncle Dale and Uncle Walt there, made it feel so much more important.

Uncle Dale came in the Wednesday before and it was so nice to have him stay with us. What a hoot he is. I learned so much more about my grandparents and the family that surrounded them. The stories that I heard and the memories of the past were so interesting and I can't wait to start reliving them in some of my writings.

Uncle Walt and Aunt Sharon were also a big surprise coming in. I think it was because of him and Uncle Dale that had so many of us took the walk this year and that is something I hope we keep doing every year. I had the best time taking all the photo's and capturing treasured moments-something I would like to do for each gathering.

Even though we didn't have as many people participate in the 50's theme this year, the one that did just went above and beyond the call of duty. Bunny, Bill, and Yvonne all dressed to the tee for the theme this year and the order of winners this year were Bunny 1st, Yvonne 2nd, and Bill 3rd-Congrats to them.

If you were not able to attend, know that you were missed and we hope that you can make it for the Christmas Party in December.

Love you all and until next time: Live Well, Love Much, and Laugh Often.

GEARING UP FOR FAMILY REUNION

Hello Chick-a-Dee's

Here's to the ladies that keep the Family Reunion going, year after year after year. Hopefully we can keep them out of trouble.

Everyone is gearing up for our 18th Annual Crosby Family Reunion. It will be fun and even better knowing we have (almost) everyone coming in for it.

Uncle Ronnie left yesterday (driving up from Florida) and Uncle Dale arrived yesterday afternoon from Texas (The ol' Okie from Muskogee). What a hoot he is and will be staying with Bunny and I until the 16th of August-so Bunny and I will need to be on our toes.

So hope everyone has their 50's beehives or slicked back manes ready--come for some food, fun, and laughter Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007.

Will be back with more pictures and happening from the day. See you all there!!

Eerie yet intriguing exhibit on the human body-A Must See

Experience what tens of thousands have seen with the extended run of the blockbuster exhibition Our Body: at the Detroit Science Center. Cost is $25 for Exhibition only or$28.00 with Imax show.

Our Body: The Universe Within is an eye-opening and educational exhibition comprised of 20 actual human bodies and 135 anatomical displays. It opened at the Detroit Science Center on Jan. 13, 2007 and is expanded to September 3rd run date for viewing.

Our Body: The Universe Within exposes the inner workings of human anatomy by presenting actual human specimens, anatomical displays, reproductions of historic anatomical artwork and much more. By presenting an artful, compelling and dignified environment, guests can connect with the human artifacts on a personal level that helps them to better understand their own bodies.

REVIEW by Kathryn: I found the exhibit intriguing, in a weird sort of way. I was amazed at our technology of preserving the human body as they did and how interesting and scary it was to view this in such a raw display.

If you get a chance, please take a weekend trip out to the Detroit Science Center, before Sept. 3rd, and view the exhibit. It's something you have to see with your own eyes. Not a gross factor, but one of interest and amazement of our human body.

The Imax Show afterwards was a little choppy, but is work seeing for some of the internal video of the human heart.

Happy Happy Birthday...To Sandy and Tina

It was a beautiful day, Sunday-July 31st, to celebrate Sandy and Tina's Birthdays. The lunches were great and the decorative bags were fun to make.

We spent 3 1/2 hours at Elizabeth Park just chatting and taking some pictures.

Can't wait for the Family Reunion and having Uncle Dale in for the Fun.
